Fw: Fun Days & Training + Grading - Marnus Els

Hi all

As you are all aware that our family fun days are an open day and we encourage all members to please invite all their friends and family to come and support and enjoy the day's events with us.

We need to see as much of you as possible at the airfield this weekend as well as on the day of the events.

I have dedicated myself to making this an event to look forward to and cannot do it without your help.

Please feel free to make any suggestion to me and I will do my best to facilitate all of them.

With some really big sponsors onboard already, we are expecting to have a really great crowd there and hopefully we can also draw a really nice amount of pilots on the day.

Let's do this together and help DDRF grow to the next level.

Thank you all.

Marnus

Fun Days & Training + Grading

Subject: DDRF

Hi Guys

We held the committee meeting on Tuesday evening. In brief the minutes included the following:

Wayne Wallace, Ray Jamieson and Garth Norfal were thanked for their hard work on the committee and wised them well. Ray and Garth remain members of the club and have agreed to assist where necessary. Wayne has found work pressures enormous and his new flying discipline is not supported at our club. Wayne will be missed and we wish him all the best into the future.

  • Marnus Els and Donovan Stevens were welcomed to the committee, Marnus will assume Ray's duties and Donovan will head up the grading and relay the Saturday flyers requests to the committee.
  • The following dates have been set aside for the Fun Days 24 March 2012, 9 June 2012, 22 September 2012 and 17 November 2012. Please put these dates in your calendar. Marnus is in the process of arranging several sponsors and has a mountain of good ideas to make these days really exiting.
  • Grading will happen before and after each fun day. Donovan will also perform grading when attending the normal club days.
  • Gavin Wagenaar will obtain Heli grading in order to perform the official grading at the club.
  • Shirts and Hats should be available by this weekend.
  • New sign will be erected at the entrance to the starting blocks with the rules clearly displayed.
  • Capital Improvements are continuing and will be completed in due course.

 See you all on Sunday

Pics-Sunday-11/03/2012-P.Carlisle

Hi Guys

The weather was really great yesterday, gentle breeze down the runway. Nice easy flying conditions indeed. Yet somehow the planes fell out the sky like raindrops in a storm. Don't know why just kept on happening. Sadly I counted only 14 pilots who came to enjoy the good weather?

The improvements are carrying on unabated. If you look at the pics one can see the entrance is improved with some aggregate received from Marius. Jerry has worked like a Trojan to ensure that the mound for the chopper pilots is now grassed and a part of the embankment for the runway is also grassed. Keep your eyes glued as more improvements are going to be happening as we carry on. On that note please guys,  please pay your subs all these improvements can only happen with the funds we collect.

We are having a committee meeting tomorrow night. If anyone has something they would like me to raise please send me an e mail.

Enjoy the pics and see you next Sunday

Kind Regards,
