Hi all pilots, family and friends
Thank you to the members who have already contacted me with ideas / suggestion as well as their offers to participate.
It will be great to have everybody from DDRF there and specially to welcome the members from other clubs who come and enjoy the hospitality and events with all of us.
We are looking again at a brilliant turnout, judging from the correspondence that I have received.
I am reminding, all members and visitors once again to bring along their families and friends to enjoy the festivities of the day, to watch and some spectacular flying and see some amazing aircrafts.
Please remember to bring your cooler bags and something to put on the coles after the activities and get to know each other a little better and make new friends.
We will also have "The RC Swop Shop" on the day where one and all can come and sell, swop, buy and exchange some of their products.
All of us have unwanted or unused radio control items gathering dust where there could be great value in these for someone else.
Please go through your items in your Hobby room / Hanger and lets bring some items to the table.
also ensure that you have little tags on your items with your details and asking price clearly indicated. (Inventory list will be available at the table and we ask of members to please bring tables and chairs with)
You are welcome to list any products or items on e-mail and send through to me prior to Saturday. I would prefer to have these lists by Thursday 15 November 2012.
I will send out existing list as it stands on Friday, 16 November 2012 to all members as these items could draw large interest on the day and your items will more likely find a user.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information.

Hi guys
Thank you all for participating and contributing with the last couple of DDRF Family Fun Day's that I organized.
It is greatly appreciated!
As you have seen in the e-mails from Peter Carlisle, the above mentioned date has been recommended for the next DDRF Fun Day.
Please come forward with any suggestions as to events, catering, etc for the day and don't hold back.
If you would like to arrange something for the day, please do so, but just inform us prior.
1: What I am needing is some form of security banner to keep spectators away from the planes and heli's.
2: Also suggestions round food and beverages, which I have already had some suggestion (Tjop & Dop with Pap & Gravy or Boerewors Rolls)
Remember to pack your cooler box as it should be HOT as Hell.
3: Helium for some balloon chasing and streamers.
4: THE MOST IMPORTANT….ALL MEMBERS TO TRY AND PARTICIPATE ON THE DAY….Even if you don't fly…Come support the other pilots.
5: All COMMITTEE MEMBERS to be at the DDRF Fun Day to encourage new members and to assist in spotting pilots!!!
6: Heli Pilots and Fixed wing pilots… Please come up with event suggestions.
Heli Events... Circuit flying where you fly against yourself to even the odds between pilots.
Spot landing From Takeoff, round pylon and back to mark.
Drop a coin in a glass or closest to it.
Fixed wing Events Streamer Chase
Balloon popping (WE NEED HELIUM FOR THIS!!!!)
Sweets Drop for the young ones!!!
Creative Flying and Unusual flying machines
Let's make this DDRF Fun Day the one to stand up and be counted!

Good day to all
Thank you again for all the Members, Participants, Visitors and Sponsors who endured the bitterly cold and windy weather
to come and show us all their commitment to not only the club (DDRF) but also their favorite sport / hobby.
Yes…The weather was not the best that we have had to date, but never the less, we all had a lot of fun and put our skill to the test
by flying in a very cold and gusty wind.
Incidents were few and far between but as we all know…There are casualties in even the best weather.
To everybody who ensured the success of the day, I want to send a special thanks and note that it would not have been possible without
all of you and your families.
Thumbs up to everybody who send me suggestions and those who volunteered such as Dave and his family for the great catering.
Hope we can count on you for the next event in September and also to Delia, Donovan, Clinton (Roodepoort Record), Dean (Aerial Concepts)
and then a congratulations to the raffle winners.
There were about 36 pilots and almost 100 spectators who had to hide their noses from the cold including members from JOMAG, WHITE HILLS,
IRENE RADIO FLYERS and as far as Thabazimbi.
Please have a look in your Roodepoort Record and Northsider Newspapers for the full article written by Clinton from Caxton Newspapers.
I am still waiting for the pictures and will post them as soon as I can.
Thank you all again and please help to make the upcoming event in September an even greater success.
Please start scratching your heads for suggestion for the next DDRF Family Fun Day and lets cooperate to make it all happen.

Good day all!!
The excitement is growing by the minute and my phone is permanently glued to my ear with enquiries.
We can expect a great turnout as I receive many calls from members at the surrounding clubs who want to attend the fun and hospitality at DDRF.
As we are all aware...Not everybody can make it on the day due to other obligations and as you all know, we have a number of planes and a GyroCopter
Up for grabs.
Now for the good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have already created the Raffle tickets and the breakdown is as follow.
1: We have a Breathtaking JET (120 size)up for grabs and raffle tickets are R50.00
2: We also have a YAK 54 (60-90 size) going for R25.00 per ticket
3: Pattern Plane (Second hand, but breathtaking!!!) R25.00 per ticket
4 GyroCopter (second hand, but breathtaking!!!) R25.00 per ticket
Now.... Since some of the members have asked me about purchasing tickets and not being able to attend on Saturday,
I decided to make the raffle tickets available immediately for purchase.
Tickets 1 – 99 Fun Jet 120
Tickets 100 – 199 YAK 54
Tickets 200 – 299 Pattern Plane (2m Wingspan)
Tickets 300 – 399 GyroCopter

Good day everybody
Thank you very much to the two members who have already send me
some suggestions regarding the upcoming
DDRF Family Fun Day.
It is much appreciated and I am working on it to secure many
more prizes and sponsors for the day.
We will also have a couple of planes up for grabs, so please
remember to bring some cash to purchase
raffle tickets and food.
Just as a teaser…
We have a Gyro Copter, Yak 54 and 2m Pattern Plane and hopefully
more up for grabs….
If you don’t buy a ticket, you cannot WIN one of these brilliant
planes!!!!!!!!!
Catering will be great this time round as we have a members wife
who will have a stand with Burgers, Boerie Rolls and Prego rolls.
She will also have lots of refreshments available for everybody.
Please remember to invite all your friends and family to come
and enjoy the day with us as this is going to be a REALLY BIG event.
We are hosting the SAMAA Westrand meeting on the same day at
DDRF which will bring lots and lots of members from the surrounding clubs.
I have also contacted Johan and Graham from Irene to come and
show us their BREATHTAKING Large (90mm) EDF JETS again.
Some more members from White Hills, JOMAG, Snoopies and other
clubs will also be joining us, so please show them why we are
the greatest and most hospitable club in SOUTH AFRICA.
As we are all well aware, we only have a single ablution block
and we would all appreciate it if someone knows or have some portable units for
us to use on the day.
It would be even better if someone could donate some to us.
Guys and Gals…PLEASE come in numbers and make sure to tell
everybody about it.
As we are expecting larger numbers than ever to attend, come
early to ensure your place under cover in the pitts and for those who can,
please bring gazebo’s with.
For those who believe that they need to expand their collection
before the Fun Day…Please have a look at some magnificent planes that I have In
Stock and feel free to contact me at any time.

Good day all
Once again we have an upcoming DDRF Family Fun Day, which
will take place on 09 June 2012.
The last one was a great success for all participants, sponsors
and spectators.With this in mind, I really want to make the following DDRF Family Fun Day even bigger and better!
This will only be possible with your help and participation, so I am inviting you all to come forth with suggestion and support such as sponsors, helpers, events, catering and whatever you can possible think off.
If you have any suggestions to sponsors, please try and provide me with contact details and a contact person, if you can.
As we all saw from and at the last DDRF Family Fun Day, all members, families and enthusiasts are more than welcome to join us on the day.
This is not restricted to members of the club only, but to
all members and enthusiasts of this great sport.
SAMAA will also be hosting the annual regional meeting at
DDRF on the day which will draw a lot of members from the West Rand Clubs!
So, please spread the word and tell everybody that you know
to come and join us on the day.
I want to thank everybody who has had a look at my new
